AR-T’s

When I was in my late 20’s my friend and I toyed around with the idea of starting a t-shirt business because we always had a lot of ideas for shirt designs. As life tends to do, it got a little hectic and we never started it. Through the years I never could get the t-shirt business out of my mind. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. In February 2016 I bit the bullet and started researching screen printing, bought the equipment, took a class, watched countless youtube videos, and here I am. Over the years, I have learned the craft of manually screen-printed textiles. Fashion and art have always been passions of mine and now AR-T’s has given me the opportunity to fuse the two together. For those who are curious, AR-T’s is a play on the words Arts and Arkansas Tees (t-shirts). AR-T’s is based out of Little Rock, Arkansas which is why many (not all) designs include Arkansas and Little Rock tributes and influences.

I thoroughly enjoy connecting with my customers and selling to those who relate and connect with the images and messages they get from them which in a sense creates a sense of community and allows people to feel represented and connected by the designs. The concept is for my designs to never be over-designed, but to be simple and classic with sharp and clear messages. Being a part of the locally made movement is a great feeling and I hope to be a part of it for years to come. There is an old saying that says when one chooses his or her clothes for the day, they are choosing who they would like to be that day. To have an opportunity for my work to be apart of that process is amazing.

HISTORY

The Little Craft Show was founded in 2011 as a fun, “little” event for us to sell our handmade products with our closest friends. We had a small venue, a handful of crafty friends, and a few extra spaces to fill. The response was amazing. TLCS is now Arkansas’ most talked about indie craft show that's celebrated for our refreshing atmosphere, enthusiastic vendors, and high quality handmade goods. We were even ranked as one of the top EIGHT craft shows in the nation by Country Living Magazine.
