Mary & hazel likewise
The highest honor I have ever received as a doll maker came from a little neighbor girl whom I had made a doll for. Full of excitement in her eyes she said, "It's brown like I am!" I was so glad, because that is exactly my goal. My goal is to help all children see themselves reflected back in something that is beautiful. I use 6 different skin tones and 8 different hair colors to create completely unique dolls. My dolls are sturdy and earth friendly, made of cotton, biodegradable stuffing and wool hair. They often wear organic cotton clothing. I love to see a display of dolls, in all the colors of God's skin-toned rainbow. It is a message to everyone who sees: we're all beautiful and we are all of the same family. I make three styles of boy or girl dolls (I also take many custom orders), in three different price categories. I also enjoy crafting my Rag-a-bunnies, sewn from entirely organic cotton and stuffed with raw organic cotton fibers. I began sewing in 2010 and quickly found my niche as a stuffy creator. I drew up my first original pattern for a doll in 2013 under my original business name, be Mary … by Hand, based out of Tulsa, OK.
