Hero Playing Cards was founded in March 2021 after our Action-Adventure Playing Cards successfully funded on Kickstarter. Based out of Northwest Arkansas, Hero Playing Cards seeks to celebrate the different types of heroes in our lives. Our first deck focuses on a few different heroes and objects you might find in some of the classic video games we all know and love. These Digital Heroes served as friends and companions for all kinds of people from all over the world and have inspired countless lives. We are passionate about creating high-quality candles and taking good care of the earth. Our business started out of our awareness of the limitations of recycling, which we saw as a business opportunity. We started making handcrafted candle vessels out of old wine bottles to help reduce waste and create quality candles. Initially we were founded as Oak + Ash Candle Co, but we have made a very intentional choice to rebrand ourselves. Foxfire is a colloquial term from Appalachia which refers to the luminescence that can be seen in some decaying wood at night. Not only do we have roots in Appalachia, but we believe that Foxfire exemplifies the way in which beauty can be found even within cycles of death and decay. For us at Foxfire, we want to transform cycles of consumption and waste into something beautiful and more sustainable.
