gwen bennett eureka springs,ar {Show us your work!:11:thumbnail:left} All of my work is of legal natural color feathers. The feathers are either sustainably molted or obtained from food sources rather than being discarded. I wash, steam, pair, trim then glue them to hand made forms. Vibrant natural color, sensual shape and texture make feathers an exciting design fiber. The masks are framed in metal and Plexiglas. My intent is to slow down the bird and spread out the feathers so that the viewer may see what is hidden in life. The format of the face and disguising the face to imply beauty, power, magic, and transformation has been with humans throughout time along with the cultural ubiquity of both feathers and masks. The feathers also lead to conversations about bird conservation, for which I am grateful. Website Instagram Facebook Twitter

Southern gatherings

Southern gatherings fayetteville, arkansas {Show us your work!:11:thumbnail:left} Starting in 2017, I started hand-stamping vintage silver-plate flatware, which is something I've always loved and collected. I found that hand-stamping already loved silverware was a wonderful way to breathe new life and energy into an item with its own flair and personality. While this started as a fun creative outlet, it quickly grew into something that people wanted for gifts, parties, and their own enjoyment. Before I knew it, I had my very own little side business! I call my business "Southern Gatherings" because the designs on my silverware embody that idea- little sayings that bring people together with a southern spirit. They range from inspirational quotes to sassy mottos to -my personal favorite- goofy puns. Some of my most popular items have been the "caffeine queen" coffee spoon, the "sweet chai o' mine" tea spoon, and the "spread gouda vibes" cheese spreader. Recently, I've started stamping serving pieces, cocktail spoons, plant markers, and anything else that brings extraordinary joy out of simple treasures. I'm also delighted to come up with some Little Craft Show exclusive pieces! Southern Gatherings has been a great passion of mine for the past two years, and I can't wait to spread (pun intended) this joy with y'all! Website Instagram Facebook Twitter

HISTORY

The Little Craft Show was founded in 2011 as a fun, “little” event for us to sell our handmade products with our closest friends. We had a small venue, a handful of crafty friends, and a few extra spaces to fill. The response was amazing. TLCS is now Arkansas’ most talked about indie craft show that's celebrated for our refreshing atmosphere, enthusiastic vendors, and high quality handmade goods. We were even ranked as one of the top EIGHT craft shows in the nation by Country Living Magazine.
